Great post and an extremely helpful one. I recently opened a shop here (two designs so far) and, yep, I'm confused on several levels. I have numerous ideas for seasonal, holiday and everyday greeting cards, invites and thank you cards as well as items for everyday use (mugs, tees, etc.) but not real sure how to use the templates. I'm a firm believer in 'stick-to-it-tivity' and am prepared to learn, work hard and to wait it out (unless we're talking decades). Smile

Thanks so much for your post. I also like your post on 15 Sept 2011...

"Just take it one step at a time, guys. Don't feel scared or intimidated--just have fun for now, and you'll learn as you go"

For me, this advice is priceless. Thanks again.

I'd like to add that to succeed, the virtues to have are the two Ps - Patience and Perseverence. (Eh... this is not from me but is a zen-ish concept). Note that it's not the fancy virtues like talent, intelligence nor creativity, etc but just plain ole patience and perseverence.

Thanks for the advice. it is definitely frustrating to keep working on products and art day after day without result. Hopefully I will see some benifit to all the time and affort at some point before I decide its a poor investment compared to other activities.

Thanks so much for this post. Just starting out with mug designs. I see that one of the keys is to put designs on as many products as possible. Thanks again.

Thanks for this. I just started up my zazzle store as an addition to my freelance design company.. we're very poor so the company itself has been quite a heavy burden when times are tough. When i'm getting no customers it's easy to get discouraged. Thank you for helping me stay optimistic. Grin
