I hope this is okay to ask here. I really don't know what the general consensus is on this type of thing. I recently came across a a site that is using my images from zazzle - somehow the watermark is not there. The photo has a credit line but it just says:
Photo from rlv.zcache.com
Is this okay? No credit to the creator or to zazzle unless you are familiar with the zcache term. I've ironically already come across this same image in real life that someone printed onto letter sized paper and it doesn't look bad either. No watermark on it.
Again, I hope it's okay to post this here. I am just wondering is this is just the nature of the beast (internet) or should I do something about it?

Contact them and ask them to add a link to your product... A link to the image (like what they are doing), is pretty useless to you, as that will not lead to your product. If they won't add a link to the product, I'd ask them to remove your images.

Thank you. I'm composing a letter now. I found another site doing the same thing, so maybe I need to write a form letter. ha. Nice to "see" you again.

Could it possibly be a referral site? If you click the image in question does it bring you to the product here at zazzle?

Thats not kewl then. Zazzle should implement a hotlink kill for sites that use images without permission or not part of the affiliate program. That way when they try to use an image without permissions it would substitute the image with a hotlinking not allowed or different image or text saying "image stolen, please visit zazzle"
Just start up a list that can be added to for hotlinking violators.

They are not using your image or design, they are using the of the Zazzle PRODUCT you created. No one can buy it without you getting a royalty.

The problem pjwuebker is that really no one can actually buy it because the link the blog owner is using to provide so called "credit" links to the Zazzle image, not the actual product page. So, they are using the image in a way that is of no benefit to NightOwlsManagerie. If they link to the product instead, then that is at least a proper credit. For example, here is a link to an image of one of my products. How would you purchase that? http://rlv.zcache.com/pink_cymbidium_orchid_photo_graduation_invitation-p161825626831237650en7le_325.jpg

Also, it's a poster. So it looks like clip art on their site. It doesn't even look like it's on a product. I also found a card of mine that was edited so the front and inside looks like one. It does have a link (if you search for it) to my product but it does not have a watermark on it and could easily be misunderstood as clip art.
And wasootch's example is exactly how it looks on the sites. You can't click on the image. It's just the image they uploaded.

Tell them to either link to the product or take it down. Be polite but firm.

A lot of these are getting re-spread around from zazzle's cache because of people pinning them on pinterest. They pin their zazzle product then others scour pinterest for images to use for whatever they want.
Nothing new, I mean they can do the same thing with google images or what not. Its just getting a fresh rash of newer folks doing it because of the climbing popularity of pinterest.

I found a business using one of mine recently, they 'apparently' had no idea they couldn't. I gave them the option of removing it, adding a link, or buying a license. So of course they chose the first and found another image from google to use instead.
The other problem with people using unlinked images, is that they could end up higher than yours in search results, then a potential customer will never get to yours. So, it's not an insignificant problem.

Absolutely. Perhaps someone should bring this to Z's attention. NightOwl do you see other Z images on these two sites? If so could we have their url's?

I haven't had a lot of luck using the general help email for Zazzle - is there a specific person we can contact? I just found 2 more and when you click on my image - it just give you the popup view like when you zoom on a Zazzle product. They are using my images like clip art BUT they are actually a Zazzle image so I would think Zazzle wouldn't be very happy either. It does not take you to the site at all. Lasgalen Arts - I haven't seen any other zazzle images besides my own so far but I'm specifically looking for my own. I just wanted to add to this that the images they are using are posters, stickers and card/invitation/post card images. These appear flat and pretty much like clip art.
