hi peeps

Weve upgraded our systems..completely on beautiful 27" imac's ..also with new chairs..all funded by some of our zazzle earnings from the store..I hope this inspires everyone to keep at it and with hard work and persistance..good ideas and originality this does indeed work as a viable business (or in our case a business add-on).

We also send our thanks to the inspired people at Zazzle for a great service, without you and your vision we would not be as we are and we are truly grateful.

Please visit our facebook site, weve been promoting it heaverly and getting more and more hits..and hits can mean sales and were more than happy to share them with you so come on over and say hi -

*update - also got a ipad and a fujifilm x10 camera from part of the earnings also so thanks zaz!

I am soon to buy a Mac laptop from my Zazzle earnings...very symbolic purchase for me...just as soon as I figure out how to get my funds from PP into CAD with the least fees possible!Happy

I will be right there on the Apple band wagon with you very soon for I am about to throw this PC out of the window and that will be the last of the Windows in my house. I should have just listened to the right Steve to begin with.

I've had my 27" Mac for over a year......it is just great. I recommend getting the wireless back up. I have the 1 Gig back up and it gives me great piece of mind.

Yeah, I'm thinking of ditching my pc and going for a mac too, but I have a slight problem, most of my artwork is done in paint shop pro and it doesn't come in a mac version. Crying

I have been looking for alternatives, and found this link to some free or inexpensive software. I heard good things about Pixelmator.
I feel your pain, I too use PSP and Elements...but I will still have the PC for that I guess, and can experiment with the laptop. I can't wait! Happy

Very good point about backup, I have a 2gig Lacie usb drive connected via Time Machine and it is fantastic, peace of mind and has already saved my bacon on several occasions.

Just to underline what we are dealing with here, I have been using macs since 1986 and have in all that time only had three problems, which were dealt with immediately and free by Apple. The last time on a three year old laptop, where they installed a new motherboard, battery and adaptor for free, which should have cost £800.
Add to that the fact that to buy one of my 27" imacs I sold a 2005 G5 quad for £900 after six years daily troublefree use.
Incidentally I run a 23" cinema display as well, it's great to check colour/resolution and all that screen space...

Yesterday I was running chrome, firefox, safari, mail, word, photoshop (2.5 gig, 50+ layer file), acrobat pro, itunes, iphoto, textedit, tweetdeck and my scanning software simultaneously and without a murmur.

I also use Logic in the studio and Mainstage live.

Fabulous tool and an absolute bargain.

Wow Paul...most of that was Greek to me, but it sounded really good! You've sold me on the wonder of a Mac...now I think I should one day get the pc in a Mac too! Sounds like they give awesome customer service, and 900 pounds for a six year old machine!! Shocked

I'm off to make coffee and then look up all those things that you mentioned...Time Machine? Lacie? cinema? Grin

LOVE, love LOVE Time Machine. It's idiot proof (which is good for me!) and it all goes onto my LaCie 500Gig drive. I'm a long time Mac user (first one I actually owned was a MacSE30) but used earlier generation Apples even before that. Smile

I have a question. If someone knows how to use a graphics program on a PC that is also available for a Mac, will the know how to use the Mac version or will they have to learn all over again?

When I switched over to Mac from Pc's I had no problem with GIMP. As for any other graphic program, I can't say.

If its something like Photoshop or Illustrator..then no..i cant speak for every program but most are cross platform (so they work on both systems exactly the same) but most are..so simply put..theres no difference..you will not have to learn many new things it is exactly the same program..apart from a few cosmetic differences.

Well...just bought my first Mac! Grin Thank you Zazzle!Love

Got a MacBook Pro 15" laptop, and now have to get used to using it! I am trying out Pixelmator for the trial period of 30 days, and will probably buy it as it's only $30...plus can get them to download my Elements onto it, but I might just buy the newest version as mine is older (Elements 5)...so far I'm loving the mobility of it, and the "stuff" it comes with is going to be fun to learn about I'm sure!
Bought the Airport Extreme router 'cos I thought I needed it, but found out from my internet provider that I had all I needed in my modum, and so returned it. Also got a discount 'cos I know a college student!

The store itself is great, and the Apple people are fun, well informed, and make it all so easy...loved the experience. I ended up going into Toronto to the Apple Store there at the Eaton Centre, and as it was our long week-end for Canada Day, made a night of it, and had dinner and listened to some free jazz in the Distillery District...had a blast!
It was a beautiful day/evening, the city was quiet (no traffic getting there) as I guess people had left for the cottage, and it was nice to just walk around sightseeing, watching the kids run through those water fountain thingies they have everwhere, screaming with delight, and feel good that now I'm retired I can enjoy these things! Life is good! Laughing

Well I haven't bought an iMac. They are impressive, but very expensive, given what one could get on the same budget. Smile
However I have just replaced my old Dell 19" CRT monitor with a brand new Dell UltraSharp U2311H 23" 16:9 monitor and recently also bought a Lenovo S12 Ideapad Netbook so plenty of new toys, all thanks to Zazzle Smile

I love Macs (I've had them since a IIci as well). My old Macbook pro just died, so I splashed out on an iMac with a trackpad. I took the old disk out of my laptop, put it into a dock, migrated everything from it and was up and running in 20 minutes, even to the Firefox pages I had been on when the old one died. Only 21.5" - I think I'd be blinded if it was any bigger!
The scrolling on the trackpad is great, and the quad processor really makes a difference with rendering!
