Silly me... I'm new. I made my first messenger bag and ordered it during the Mother's Day special on bags. Then, before it came, which was today, I got scared that it would come out pixilated and all wrong. I didn't want anyone to order something bad, so I deleted it. AWK! The bag came today and it's absolutely wonderful. I LOVE IT. It came out so much better than I could possibly imagine it would. Now I wish that I had the bag back so I could review it. Ah well.... so now I know. Don't be such a 'fraidy cat. I'll remake it and I'm sure someone will find it even without a glowing personal review. I'm so happy with everything I've ordered. Zazzle sure makes good products. I'm so excited about that, and so happy to be making designs for products here. I could become a shopaholic on zazzle. Everyone is making such cool stuff. I'm an official zazzleaholic. Just had to crow about it.

Hi Zaptime, glad you loved your bag. I haven't been able to bite the bullet enough to buy one yet. On another note some of the large affilates let us know that actually deleteing products is bad for your store. It causes a mess up with Goggle and you will drop dramatically in the searches. Also some of the affilates have their programs set up so that if they have been promoting you and their program hits on missing products it will drop you from their list. Unless it is a brand new product that you created in the last few days (which you could delete ok) you need to just switch the product to hidden. That way the searches don't hit empty links and ding you.

I've never tested it, but someone told me that hidden does indeed cause an empty link, and what you really need to do is to set those products to Direct Only.

Zazzle products are get, just take care with your designs and order things up from time to time to check them. We found our placements wrong a couple times so redid them.

Sweet Rascal and Sensato... this information is gold for me. Thank you. I've been ordering, examining, remaking, then deleting. I noticed that I did screw up my placement on Zazzle and on Google. That makes sense. I had an envelope with fairies and a sepia background that was originally well placed on Zazzle... but when I ordered it I decided to noodle with it and deleted the original. Now it's in nowhere land. Darn. OK. I'll stop doing that now. It's good to know about the Direct Only. I wish I knew of a way to post for sale, without actually posting it... just so I could check it out and see if I really did everything right... like for invitations. Sometimes I miss adding a text field, or I think of something else. I need to find out about how to do the Direct Sale. That is probably the answer to this? Thanks to everyone who read this thread and visited my store. I've realized in the last couple of days how valuable our community is, how important community support is in ranking. I'm continually amazed by the artists. My own favorite products are the ones where I take the time and create something new out of old paintings or drawings. That's a blast. I am an artist. But since what I mostly do is ceramics and sculpture, that doesn't quite fit here. You can't sell a life-sized self-portrait torso with a lion head here! Thanks again. Oh, btw, about the messenger bag. That Mother's Day sale with 50% off bags was great. Came out to a bit over $40. Look for another one of those.

you can hide products you do not want others to buy. Set it to hidden only you can see it when you post for sale or after its made you can edit the product and change it there

Thank you... this info comes in handy... making products direct... and hiding a product til I know I'm satisfied with it. Knowing this has made creating products much less stressful. Especially invitations.

I might be wrong, but I think hidden only hides them in your store, and they will still show up in a market place search.

In my experience, hidden hides them just about everywhere, except to you, when you are logged into your account, at which point they will show to you in your store and in your account, but not in the MP (nor in any external site). I wish it would hide them in my store too, made a few mistakes when I went to select something to promote and grabbed the wrong one. Now I only choose what to promote from within my account, as at least that has the symbol to show what is hidden.

I just accidentally deleted a whole category of products. I meant to move them, but wasn't paying attention, and hit 'delete' instead. I hope no one was promoting them. If they must show in the store, it would be helpful if the 'hidden' icon was displayed there as well.

Yeah, I agree. I am now having that problem, too! I was wondering why I had something listed twice. Hmmmm. One must be hidden.

Just a thought - Move your "hidden" product to a "hidden" category ??
Should make your store "cleaner" when you are viewing.

Yes, but at least they'll be in one place & not cluttering up the rest of my categories. It just looks so messy having them mixed up with my active products, even if only I can see them. I'm a bit of a neat freak Although finding them all is going to take some time - it looks like I'll have to go through all my products. Unless there's a way to just view the 'direct only' products in my account area, separately from everything else? (if not, that would be a nice feature to have...)

Yes, I did it with mine - I think I just went category by category as I'm not aware of any way to view just the 'Direct only' products.

In View your Products, you can see the Direct Only under Private, Right? And they don't show up in the store? Just checking... since I'm new, it's all new to me.
Sounds like I ought to put hidden products in a folder right away since I only started creating this week. Thanks for the tips.
