So after going off about how I was going fulltime, this is how its turned out. I've been working like a dog since September. Although the holiday season was good, I'm reassessing my future with Zazzle. Sales have been dismal lately (like so many others) so I'll be giving it a few more months & see what happens.

Sorry it's not been going so well, I've always wondered if there's a peak and then sales perhaps decline a bit. You never know though, it may just be a dip in an otherwise upward trend. There are always more people joining, including some very professional ones, to increase the competition. I wonder if, even if you find a niche, there's going to come a time when others find that niche as well and dilute it. There's also the 'eggs in one basket' approach, though it's hard to find anything comparable to Zazzle. None of my diversifications have been too successful yet, but I'm always on the lookout. My February has been second only to December, but is it a flash in the pan? I think probably, if you're able, the only way to keep ahead is to keep finding the spots that others haven't yet - easier said than done! I hope you manage to stay afloat - it gives us all hope! Good luck!

My sales have been slower than I would have liked lately, too, but it's typical for this time of year. I've been focusing on branching out and covering as many niches and subject matter as I can, and I got a part time job at the middle school to cover the extra expenses of a bigger house I just moved into, but all in all, I'm still keeping my head above water. This is what it's like to be self-employed, but just remember--you're still the one in control, unlike you would be under an employer.

My husband just got laid off and after telling me a million ideas to put on my Zazzle "To Do"list (which is already a million miles long), he has finally given up on bossing me around and made his own Zazzle store. Ever since he started playing with the site, I haven't been able to get him to do job search without twisting his arm, he is just enjoying zazzling so much! I think somehow I ended up with a fulltime zazzler by entertainment value alone. So now if the kids and medical stuff would stop interrupting so much, we might actually make a go at it. Thanks for the inspiration, Prosellers! Wish us luck. http://www.zazzle.com/san_marcos_mammaand NOW, http://www.zazzle.com/dancing_shadows

Can you believe that I am not even listed as a pro seller but I am still a full time zazzler? How is this? Well it is a trick. I am actually a disabled stay at home dad. But technically I am a full time zazzler now. Let me help you understand.
A while back I received about $40 from one of my stores. Well this was a nice surprise because I had not been working on advertising anything and all the sales were just luck. More recently I received another $28. Well I figure that if I can earn this kind of money without advertising anything then what type of money can I earn if I really work at this?
So now I am working on adding at least 25 items per day and advertising on my site as well as facebook and anything else I can think of. I hope that some day I will make a real living off this. But for now I am completely happy with the "fun money" that I am making.

I totally enjoy coming to this thread as it's so encouraging to hear how others are making Zazzle their dream job. Despite the fluctuations of the buying market, creativity of the artists and the brilliant service provided by Zazzle, this goal can become a reality. For myself, Zazzle is currently my second job. However, I enjoy the time I get to create and talk with others via the forums. My sales have been consistent, for which I'm quite pleased. My question to those who are pursuing Zazzle full time, is how much time and effort do you give to marketing? A fantastic product might exist and be available, but if no one knows about it, then it's likely to meet with meager success. Between creating new designs and managing your shop, where does marketing fit in? My respect goes to each one of you who are diligently caring for your shop(s.) This is a question I have in mind while considering my future with Zazzle. Thanks so much!

I hope I can say this some day, too. Just started really working on this recently as I'm out of a regular job (and need to find one soon) so I'm hoping to maybe get this going enough to earn a few extra bucks. I'm not sure how well photography in general sells, though, so we'll see what happens over time. ^_^

Sorry to hear that, how are you doin now? I noticed the date being a while back. I hope better? Do you work on any of the other sites? I have some on 500Pix, Society 6 & Saatchi Online, etc. Although, zazzle has been the one to have proven itself more with sales, with the exception of Fine Art of America. I'd love to just deal with one, but doing a few other sites may help too? I hope you are doing well now? I noticed you still have your store and I absolutely love your store as well as the designs. It looks very professional and beautiful designs. Good luck to you
