Hi,
Sorry if this is the wrong place for this, but I really couldn't figure out where it should belong.
Anyway, I am going to be taking pictures for my niece's wedding coming up very soon (in just less than two weeks) and I want to be able to make the pictures that turn out available to people that attended the reception so they can get prints.
I'm a trying to figure out the best way of doing this.
Direct-only seems to be rather clunky because if I have a lot of photos, that means a ton of URLs to make available to the bride, etc., to pass on.
What would you say the best way would be to make these shots available?
I don't want them available to the general public.
Should I create a store specifically for this purpose, and then once done with it, remove the store?
Or, is there an easier or better way of doing this?
Thanks much in advance for any help!

My uncle used Picasa for my Cousin's wedding. He allowed us to either download it (entire album) for free, or purchase prints.
Not sure if he made any commissions of the ordered prints though.
Basically he sent us a direct link and we were able to view / download all 700+ of the photos he took.

SmugMug is supposed to be pretty good. I've browsed around their site and they seem to have a lot of good features. A number of photographers I know have used, and still are using SmugMug and are quite happy with it.

Sorry, I got busy and didn't get back here until now.
I plan to just make prints up to 8X10 available. No actual products, unless I think there's something that will work.
I had read about smugmug before posting originally, but it seemed a bit of a pain to deal with and I don't want to join them and then worry about what happens to my stuff after a year, etc.
I'd prefer to do things here, if I can. I just want to make it painless for me to put pictures up and to make them easily available to the wedding guests that may be interested in pictures.
I won't be charging much for pictures, as this is mainly my family who may want prints.
I really don't want any of these photos visible to the general public.
In a case like that, would a new store be advisable and make it private? Can people still purchase photos if I give them the store's URL?

In your Zazzle account go to images. Click Add album... Name it. Load pictures into it. From inside the album click share. Test by sending to yourself and a couple others. Test by accessing from a machine you don't ordinarily use so you can be 100% sure you are not logged in when you test the link. The people you give the link to can see it and order prints. It won't be accessible by people without the link. You don't get a markup (or at least you didn't in the past, haven't checked lately) so it is not for making money.

JustPretty - that's great info. I didn't realize Zazzle could do that.
About smugmug, they are wonderful. It's not a pain at all to set up or deal with, customer service is the best I've ever dealt with and if you want a gallery private, you just set a password and give it to only those you want to have it. And no worries about what happens to your images. They are your images and only yours and go nowhere until/unless you want them to. Nothing happens to your stuff that you don't choose. And they do offer downloads for images also.

Thanks everyone! I'll look into the options and figure something out! I really appreciate the answers!!
I took over 300 pictures Saturday and I'm absolutely exhausted. There's a reason I don't do those types of events for a living! Too much stress! LOL

One more question - I really want to keep these pictures from being found in a public forum - they are a wedding, after all.
If I DON'T use keywords on my pictures, will that make them hard to find and they won't necessarily show up in the public view?
One site that I was thinking of using doesn't have enough space for all the pictures, so that puts me in a quandary. I don't have the money to pay to have accounts at either smugmug or the other site I found, so I really want to find a way to make it work here.
Will a no-keywords approach make things mostly private?
