Noticed that a few folks are putting sale thank you's in the comments under the product. Thought it a good idea and did a few of my better selling Chrissy cards but by the light of day a little voice is saying take them down.

While at first glance the design looks more successful and thus, will hopefully induce more sales. But I'm wondering if all the thank you's can have the reverse effect of appearing to be overly blowing ones trumpet and putting the next customer off.

If you have a customer choosing between two great designs that he or she just adores and one design has a page of sales thanks while the other has none. Then a decent cross section of buyers will be drawn to the underdog which appears to them to have made no sales at all.

While it's nice to recognize our customers I'm not sure if this is the way to do it.

Any thoughts?

Personally I'd be happier without a comments wall for every product. Ironically one of my best selling Christmas cards in volume and customers has no comments and no ratings. Weird.

I post thank you's to the customers... I even have customers buying products that have thank you's to others on the product comment wall. I really don't think customers are put off when a SK leaves a thank you note... I, however, personally believe they are/could be put off when the comment wall is full of chit chat. I know I am. That is why I don't have chit chat taking place on product walls and that is why none of my stores have a front page comment wall.

I think it can be bad for business to post thank-you's on business cards. Although people understand that many others out there are using the business cards they want to purchase, posting a confirmation of that could turn them away. I wouldn't buy a design for my business if I thought lots of other businesses were using it.

I do thank you's in the product comment section. I think it's nice for customers to know that their business is appreciated and I'm sure returning customers are happy to see that.
I do agree about the business cards though, most customers would like to think that the card isn't being used all over the place and that it's somewhat exclusive to them.
