I have a question...is Zazzle planning to advertise outside of the US at some future date? Someone tell me if the world is passing me by and this has already happened, okay? ;-) Just wondering if this is on the boards...

Hi there!
I've recently begun a new store dedicated to Cottage Memories, and all the work thus far is of Muskoka, Ontario scenery. I'm excited to grow it and do more with it - and had forgotten entirely about Zazzle's .ca site!
I guess I'd better get some Canada tags in there!

In case anyone was wondering if shipping is reduced on the "local" sites, it does certainly seem to be with a quick "test."

I just went in to view the shipping cost for a skateboard which I had noticed was really high before, and I wondered what it was on the .ca site. According to the help file, it's a minimum of $44.95 to ship to Canada. However, I ran through a "sample" purchase - and the rate showing is just $16.99! That's a HUGE difference. And you'd never know it by looking at the help file. And shirts are $2 cheaper than the help file and only $1 extra for the second shirt. So shipping does seem to be reduced on the .ca site anyway!

Now if only we could get the help files updated for the non-US sites to show the new shipping rates. I clicked the link from the .ca site, but it took me to .com help files with the old shipping prices.

Jeff Beaver (Zazzle co-founder) was recently in Toronto on live CTV News to promote Zazzle.ca

Both Beaver brothers were also in Australia recently to do the same with the Australian site.

I would call that outside advertising.

I don't get this at all. I don't want to be a party pooper but I have concerns over this.

I sell on Zazzle and buy apparel from predominantly US sites including Zazzle because Australia is a small market with a small population. That means our local suppliers are often forced to source goods as cheaply as possible and hit us with the biggest mark-ups possible meaning we get often get low quality Asian apparel at high quality prices. Sizes are often unreliable also. Asian suppliers have notoriously bad reputation when it comes to clothing sizes, they either manufacture for Asian bodies or they make such high volume at low prices they can afford a return rate higher than many other places.

Zazzle has so far also managed to beat local suppliers on delivery. That means it could take several weeks to get an item from an Australian supplier in these products while Zazzle is delivering in a few days

I like American apparel because it is made for American body sizes and with the high sales population you can afford to be more generous in quality.

In Australia better quality goods are usually sourced from another country and then the mark-up is placed on top of the already high price.

Does this new effort by Zazzle mean Australian buyers will now be forced to endure locally (that means Asian) sourced apparel instead of the excellent US goods we have been used to?

I also don't understand why a particularly Australian site is even needed when I get US and other sites when I Google something. I have to use a button to limit my search for Australian sites.

Australia has GST. Will I be paying another ten percent plus on goods because they are being sourced locally?

I notice a number of items are out of stock and have been for a few days. Will the wider market and changing sources of products make this a regular thing and will I be forced to await supply locally rather than via the present US and other sources Zazzle have used thus far.

Will my Australian products in some way become less available in other markets and move to Australian areas of availability. As I said Australia is a small market and that would be the kiss of death for anyone selling needing volume sales!

As I said I don't want to be the party pooper but I am a little concerned.
