n case anyone was wondering if shipping is reduced on the "local" sites, it does certainly seem to be with a quick "test."

Doing a little shopping on Zazzle last night.

I ordered 4 calendars from my own site plus some stationary (ten units) Zazzle charged me around $16 for postage on the calendars and was going to charge me another $14 or so for the packet of stationary despite them being on the same order. I thought I would try the local site (Australia)

The stationary that cost $8us in USA Zazzle cost $12aud in the Australian site which makes them more expensive and the delivery was $16aud which seems an awful lot for a local delivery of a few sheets of paper. Delivery under 250gm with Australia is about $5 even with handling normally. I can get items like graphic cards delivered next day for $10

Hi Weblight,
Actually, the US prices are pretty good, apart from the fact that we have to wait 4 weeks to get it!!!
Just as a bit of information, Postage to the US for
Up to 250grams $9.30
250 - 500 grams $15.30
500 - 750 grams $21.30
750 - 1kg $27.30

Then if you want it trackable add another $5.00

Postage within Australia
Up to 250grams $4.35
250 - 500grams $5.60
500 - 1 kg Varies from $7.45 to $12.45
Trackable Add $2.80

It can get expensive for us to get stuff here. You should see what I have to pay to get a 16 pound parcel here from the USA. It cost me $220.00AUD

I had a similar query about why the base price of products on zazzle.com.au was more expensive than the us site and heres the answer i received .If orders are made from the .com.au site they are more expensive because they include customs/import duties, whereas when you purchase from the .com site they do not include the above duties so you could be liable to additional charges when it gets to Australia. so basically if you purchase from the .com.au site you will not be liable to pay any other fees to customs .

EDIT***** just an update to this , the above is a little suspect! I have emailed zazzle directly asking about the base price of zazzle.com.au products so will hopefully get an answer soon. In the meantime check out Australian customs no import duties or gst on items or groups of items arriving together via post under the value of AUS$1000
