My Pictures, artwork and prose are my own. My brother provides his own photography, as well.
There are some Zazzle contributors who offer free graphics. Perhaps one of them will chime in with more information.
Just one caveat, don't assume that just because it is on the net in a million places it is free for anyone's use.
I like your apron! It brought a smile! Good luck with your gallery!
Bright Blessings, Bit

I create most of mine myself. However, I do offer some of my graphics for free for others to use. I do have a membership site as well for more graphics, but there are 3 pages with plenty of free ones to start with. www.krwgraphics.comWelcome and good luck to you! Oh - look on the Create Products forum and you'll find a list of free and free to try programs that might be usefull

Welcome to Zazzle! I like your designs, very cute and funny! I create all my own art. Every once in a while I will use one of my husbands photo's to create something. I do 2d and 3d cgi images. Legally you can use only images you yourself create or photo's you take unless you have express consent by the creator of a royalty free image. There are a few (very few) legit providers of royalty free image providers who also allow commercial use. There are some great image creation/editing software programs out there. Gimp is one freeware one. I use PaintShopPro mostly, it's very user friendly. Glad to have ya and look forward to seeing more of your designs! Marianne

About 80% of my stuff is painted by me or my husband or rendered by me, the rest I have bought a commercial license to use the graphics and I arrange them or add to them to make my own designs.

I draw most of mine on the computer or freehand. If I can't draw it, I photograph it. If I want to draw a cartoon of something that has to look a certain way eg. the Mona Lisa, I will look at pictures of it first on flickr. You can even use pictures straight from Flickr too but be careful; some have copyright protection.

Be VERY careful - most will have copyright protection and a lot of those posted are posted by people who don't have the right to post them to begin with. If you don't have express permission - that you can prove - don't use it.

I create my images either with mouse on computer, pen & ink drawing, paint and ink on paper or photos with a digital camera. I've got an old graphics tablet also, but haven't used it much. I don't have all of the software for it.

I use my own original art and photography as well as the very very basic MS Paint program and ACDSee 10 Photoediting effects
some of my other galleries also use images from the public domain/creative commons or whose copyrights have expired

I use my own photography -- after a lot of years I have 150,000+ photos and I take 3,000 or so each month. Right now I have been out several days a week taking flower photos because spring has sprung and I have to get the images while the flowers look new and fresh.

must? They may not be everyone's taste, but I wouldn't tell someone they "must" do anything about the design of their own gallery.
Also, people need to be careful just searching for images to use. You have to take care to be absolutely certain that not only will you be allowed to use them commercially - but specifically for items such as t-shirts etc. There are some graphic and photo sites that have different terms for commercial use on sites like Zazzle as opposed to using for print media.
And also - make sure it's a reputable site. Just because someone posts images and says they're ok to use doesn't mean they really are. This happens a lot on MSN and Yahoo groups. Make certain the person is clear thet they are their images that they created themselves.

Never take images from google or any site.
Purchased Commercial lic. images are not transferable which is exactly what is being done if you upload them to Zazzle - Zazzle doesn't have the lic. to use them you do - not Zazzle.
If you question it - call the company/person who owns it and get it in writing that the image can be used specifically in (print on demand companies).

I take my own photos for my site. I also use various design programs to make my fractals etc. I hope your site takes off for you ...oh...and I know of at least a few people who use disposable cameras and come up with beautiful photos that they use... so you dont have to go 'you beaut' expensive equipment. If you want to do pattern work, there are a few free programs on the internet...do a google search and see what you come up with

Hi! All of mine are either hand-drawn on paper and scanned, mouse-drawn in Adobe Illustrator and a few other programs I use, or painted with a traditional brush in watercolor, acrylic and /or oil paint by me on canvas or paper and then scanned I also have a Wacom drawing tablet.

That's a good point... a license may state that the images can be used on products designed for retail sale; but that doesn't necessarily mean a third party (such as Zazzle or any other POD site) can be involved. You have to read "the small print" thoroughly before buying image licenses... and those of us who sell image licenses should clearly state specific terms of use. It wouldn't be a good experience for anyone involved if you had to sue one of your own customers because they didn't understand the licensing terms.

I went to your site Urbanphotos - very nice I might add! I did notice some famous hotels/buildings singled out on some of your designs - I'm sure you have permission from the architects to use those for resale - assuming you shot the photo. Many don't realize you even need permission from the designer of a building if it's singled out famous or not - if it was part of a skyline then that is another story all together. Great work!!
