Is it possible to be successful without social networking.

Depends what you consider successful. My success at this time would never of happened without networking. I get over half of my sales from referrals.

I would consider sucessful something halfway realistic, instead of very very little in the course of almost three years...and nothing for weeks on end throughout teh year, with just a few random...

Sellers might get lucky and hit a popular niche without networking, but probably will make more no matter what with networking or getting people to refer their products in some way.
Think about it like a sweepstakes, products are one in millions ++... If sellers want them to have a better chance at being picked / selling they have to fight for them to get seen.
That doesn't mean anyone has to eat, sleep, zazzle... but putting in an effort each day / week / month to get out there if they can. One hour, two, whatever works for each situation / lifestyle / desire. Every bit that is done to promote is a positive effort towards more sales. Plus a lot can be automated - like getting stuff on facebook or twitter using a service to post your rss feeds, etc. Which means you can network without even spending ANY time doing it once you do the initial setup...
The nice thing is whatever effort and hours put in now do have the potential to pay back multiple times in years to come... Can we say the same about the hour spent watching tv, etc.
Not that I give up tv or reading or whatever, lol, I'm watching and working at the same time... I think it's just finding a balance that works for each person's life, what they want to make out of zazzle, and that includes as much networking as possible in the mix.

AngelArtiste,I feel your anguish, just had a look at your store and you are so creative So much time and effort has gone into your store, with little reward. As Bezazzled says so many competing in the Marketplace,it is hard to get our stuff out there. Promoting our stores is paramount.I find it difficult because I wasn't bought up in the computer savvy generations. Links, copy ,paste, ect I need a whole year to navigate.Fortunately I don't need Zazzle to survive, but for so many of you young ones here, who depend on an income, Zazzle is available for us to use no cost, free site and user friendly software. Creating Quality images for products alone, takes many hours out of the day but unless we Promote, Promote. advertise, most of us will never be seen. For creatives this the hardest thing to tackle. An extra job outside Zazzle may help balance the family budget!! Zazzlers, from one who has been there done that for many years, just a few thoughts to consider. Cheers and Lots of Sales and Promotion !! Jill.
