I like the idea of the note directing customers to the "see on X styles" link, but unfortunately, everytime I've clicked that link, only about half of the style images show -- the others just appear as unloaded images.
Anybody else have this problem?

Anybody else have this problem? There were two other posts around here about that. I read that it's a temporary glitch that Zazzle is aware of. I noticed it in one of my stores a few days ago when someone else made note of it about their store being that way.

It's been said that creating new products from old ones into other stores really takes a hit on your stores. I'm not sure if it's fact but I think I'll not be doing this route. The products I sell well are from the more established stores with 1000+ products in them. Those that have less than 1000 sell less. I'm sure there are many other factors going into this but I"d be nervous loosing any good rankings I've already established with the original products in the MP.

I set up two new stores recently, with the intention of splitting off some of the products from my main store. I recreated some of them, but after noticing how few views the stuff in the new stores is getting (and no sales yet), I've decided to just put completely new products in the new stores for now and leave my current products in the original store. Then hopefully in a few months sales will have grown in the new stores to match my current level, and I'll be able to move the rest of the products over without taking so much of a financial hit. It's a bit messy having similar designs split across stores in the meantime, but the only alternative is to lose a ton of sales. I really wish we could just move stuff between our stores, and avoid these issues.

That's interesting - so far most people have said that it's ok to make new products from old as long as you set the old ones to 'direct only', but I don't want to risk it if it means losing possible sales. The jury's still out on this one as far as I'm concerned...

My way of dealing with the grouping is to use the categories according to product types. Each category is actually more like a department in my store, where each category or department is a different product type. Plus I make sure to create a unique icon for each of my categories, which are presented at the top of my store page. That way if someone is specifically interested in a particular product, like a button, or a keychain, or throw pillows, all they have to do is click on the appropriate icon, and then they can see all I have available for that product type. That way, even if I use the same image for more than one of these products, they all still show within each of their separate category pages.
