when I navigate back and forth between PRODUCT LINES and PRODUCT TYPES using the sidebar links, there is a chain reaction effect ... for instance, if I move from my 'animals' PRODUCT LINE to my 'bags' PRODUCT TYPE, I am shown only bags featuring animals ... and if I move from there to my 'people' PRODUCT LINE, I'm only shown bags featuring people ... and so on ... to see all products in the product line or type, I must click 'products' at the top, displaying all my products, then reselect whatever LINE or TYPE I want to see all of

this chain reaction effect can lead in short order to empty pages, which makes it appear that either the site or the merchant isn't up to snuff ... this can't be good for business ... anyone else having this problem? ... or is there a setting I'm not aware of to correct this?

if you are within one of your own categories and then choose a product type, the assumption is that you want to view only those product types within that category.

If you want to, for instance, see all of your tote bags, go back to your gallery home and then click the product type.

it's not that I didn't discover, finally, how to see what I wanted, but it shouldn't have been that complicated ... what concerns me is that shoppers will be as confused as I was and react by moving along ... or perhaps I'm just too easily confused

I can't say. I know that I understood right off- but I've been to other sites where the navigation is similar - so... that's just me.

Oh my- I didnt realize that that is how the navigation worked! Shocked I think it would be much better if it just showed the pages of products straight away! it always navigates down to nothing. It never occured to me that it was on purpose. and for some reason , I never noticed it doing that before the upgrade! I thought it was an unresolved bug. Guess they won't fix something that's not actually broken! Hope the people browsing my gallery are a lot smarter than I am!Stick out tongue

Just got caught in the same circle - was at a site that had a lot of great products - but as I clicked around I kept getting empty pages. Finally remember this post - hit "Home" on the page and then back top the product and the pages were filled. VERY CONFUSING navigation for outside shoppers that are unaware of this.
