When I go to my earnings menu now, and select the "History" on the left, and scroll down to the bottom, there is now a CSV (comma separated value) file I can save off and import to Excel. Seems like this just showed up recently?

It's pretty cool, now I can graph sales over time, etc.

Has anyone else played with this yet? I imagine we could eventually make a few Excel macros and do some cool reporting.

I'm just doing the following in Excel

File Menu -> Open

Then select the CSV file that you saved off from Zazzle. Then a dialog box pops up asking if you want to delimit the file. Select delimit with commas.

Hope that helps.

Yup works just like you said. Now what do I do for the next entries? Create a new page?

Glad it worked for you!

Can you clarify what you mean by "next entries"?

I'm not sure, but maybe you are referring to future sales? Back on Zazzle on the earnings page under History where you downloaded the CSV file, there is a drop down menu just above the "Date" column. This allows you to choose a different time period. Once a different time period is selected, you can download that into a CSV file and import like before.

For future sales, I guess all just go download all my sales in the future and import it into a new Excel sheet (basically throwing away the old one).

If I've mus-understood your question, let me know.

It has been a long time since I have worked in Excel (or any spreadsheet), however, I believe there should be a place to select "append" when you import information to an existing sheet.

Try with a copy of information you want to retain on first try.
Import new file to OLD FILE NAME, the program should ask if you want to replace or append.

I hope I am remembering correctly.
Good luck.

Thanks.....I guess a lot of us will be learning some new tricks.....I've never had any reason to use Excel before. Nothing like learning a new skill to keep the old gray matter working properly. Thanks again!

I wish it had the product type shown also. I was trying to figure out if I could decode it from the product number, but that would be a pain. Maybe we can suggest to Zazzle they add a column in the CSV file for product type!

....slapping my head ......Idea
I have forgotten all the excel I used to do apparently.
don't know how many will understand this but in order to show what product has been sold....

1.go to the data you downloaded in the cvs file
2.parse the data into columns
3. add three columns to the right of the description number ( not "royalty on product" just number)
3.Use "text to columns" to split number on each dash
4. add worksheet and put product codes in one column and product descriptions in the 2nd one ( from the info used for rss)
4. use a "vlookup" on the column with the first three numbers from your product number, have it search the table you made on the 2nd worksheet page for that number and return the description in the 2nd column

I'm not real good at describing this but it worked beautifully.
If you try it and have trouble with it, I'll try to help you through it

The newest products (from beginning of August?) no longer have the 3 digit code as described. You need the text list (a pain). Here is link for the text inforation

The 3 digit will work for the older items though (Link for 3 digit)

I know that's the case for pulling products into zstores...but if you look at something that sold in my store today, it has the number
"235-35657011-4787211"

It is a tshirt.
If you look at the old 3 digit list of products the number "235" which are the first three digits of the product number,
"235" = T-shirts/Apparel

So I have so far been able to identify all the types of products I sold from the first of the year.

As I stated the NEWER products have the same initial 3 numbers

256044723941006354 is a dartboard
256323351847576491 is a Cake topper
256318898658856962 is a wall clock

The older items are still sortable by the first 3 digits.

I stand corrected. Thanks for making that clear. I hadn't noticed it
