clean_world, respectfully disagreeing about the whine party. Constructive criticism is great but thread after thread of constant complaining not only gets old real fast, but it's destructive in so many ways.

My response was not meant to be nice so I guess I hit my target. Nice responses are not warranted when a finger is pointed at a certain segment or group of people in any niche and implied that they don't deserve recognition. Nor do I like the "only artists welcomed" message. You can put a lace skirt on an ugly issue all day long, but at the end of the day it's still ugly, mean-spirited, and totally unnecessary.

There are as many individual talents as there are people in this forum and each are valued and welcomed here. If somebody wants to look down their nose at any single shopkeeper ... they better come equipped with an asbestos suit. And that's a fact.

thread after thread of constant complaining

I have not seen thread after thread of complainers on here.

There are as many individual talents as there are people in this forum and each are valued and welcomed here. If somebody wants to look down their nose at any single shopkeeper ... they better come equipped with an asbestos suit. And that's a fact.

I was not looking down at anyone. I was trying to state that not everyone comes here with the same goals.

Nor do I like the "only artists welcomed" message

That was not my message. I was trying to give people who are not 'artists' a glimpse of what an artist might feel like.

granted, aazari came off very strong, why? I have no idea. But I do understand where he/she is coming from when I put my artist hat on.

I have participated in numerous juried exhibitions, and works of someone else would be disqualified never alone against the law, its called 'stolen art'.

Stolen Art (sto·len ärt) - is something [Art] that is used by someone other than the original artist and the proper credit is not given to the original artist or claiming it as their own. It can also be something [Art] that is being used without permission of the owner.

So when 'artists' arrives here, and see images that are clearly not their own, we are not quite sure what is going on.

with that said, Im learning the ropes of the 'business' side of all of this. It has taken me some time to understand, and most people here have been very patient with me, which i am thankful.

I am learning about copywrite, trademarks, and a whole bunch of other stuff.

anyway, thanks for the 'old timers' who have been very patient and helping me understand this whole thing.

I was even told about 'tags'..lol. We were never taught that in art school...lol. The only thing i knew about tags were from graffiti artists...

clean_world - Stop the boat and lower the anchor. My reply to you was about not being nice.

If you haven't seen thread after thread of complaining, then we're reading different forums. Take a wild guess at how many people do not participate in the forums due to the negativity factor? It would shock you.

I did not imply nor state that you were looking down your nose at anybody, but I sure as haydes was implying that it was the intent of the original poster. I did not imply nor state that you said only artists are welcomed, but I sure as haydes was implying this it was the intent in the original poster's message.

I explained in detail why Nice was not going to happen and I meant it. Now let's lift anchor and sail on.

The tin eye isn't much chop. Uploaded a couple of pieces that have a fair bit of internet presence and it gave a zero search result. Great idea, if it works.

Regarding the TBA's I can see both sides depending on which hat I'm wearing. Art will always be subjective I suppose. But in the end I don't really care if someone uploads a design featuring bellybutton fluff. If it sells more power to them.

As long as the fluff design is theirs to sell.

That's okay clean_world and don't worry about it. Thank you for the sweet compliment as I appreciate it so very much. I had to laugh because I have so many shops in progress for reworking that I wasn't sure until I looked, which shop I was logged in under. Have a great day full of sales!
