my forum just changed to a new font which i am finding very difficult to read - i hate to say but this may keep me from being able to participate in the forums

the blue is so light and bright it is VERY difficult to read - and it actually hurts my eyes to look at it

Thank goodness I have my comp set to view font styles the way I want to instead of how someone else wants me to... I would hate to be subjected to something that hurts the eyes.

Yes I've notice a change to. I don't know whether the font which has been changed I thought it was sans serif before? However it seems to be the line spacing which is messed up. There seems to be too much space between the lines which I find more difficult to read myself.

I actually think it looks good and the blue I see isn't a light one. It's more of a royal blue to me.

For those who would like it. I am loading a video as we type to youtube about how to switch the colors you see to something more comfortable.
The tutorial covers Firefox and Internet Explorer. It is processing now..should be ready in about half an hour or so. Stay tuned!

You can check out some You Suck..re-runs while you wait.

Hey Shoppa if you use firefox you can use this script here to change font color and I'm quite sure the font style as well. Simply add a css for the font style to it. Check it out.

yeah the lines are too far apart there is too big a space between the words and the letters are smooshed together like arial narrow with big gaps between - when i am typing i see the old font...

i have a very common learning disability which is a form of dyslexia called dysgraphia- it also causes me difficulties when people write in all caps - i know i am not the only person with this - since statistics say as many as 1 in 100 people have some for of dyslexia or dysgraphia....and a high number of people with these types of disabilities are in the arts...so i would asume there are a great number of people having difficulties like me here at zazzle...

please just go back to the old fonts

Forcing font preferences on Firefox and IE.
(You Tube Video)

Hope this helps those who would prefer to see what they want to see on the forums.

Well it's easy enough to set a different font in Firefox and prevent sites from over riding it. But of course that will apply to all sites one visits.

I think the problem in this case though is not so much the font but the line spacing is about 25% too much and as Shoppa says it also seems the word and letter spacing is slightly too short as well. Over riding the font doesn't solve the problem because I dare say it's a problem with the CSS style sheet.

Whilst I'm not finding it a huge problem with shorter words, I dare say it would make German compound nouns more difficult to read and it doesn't work to well with this Welsh place name either

This is by far easier than my script, but to do it this way will change it for every website right? So if a website is using a background color same as I set as link color than I wont see a thing right?

It's just a simple fix that can be undone in the browser settings with a check/uncheck. Yes, it will change the settings for all sites you visit.
Since it is relatively easy and quick to switch back and forth (Once you know how to do it) I figured I might empower some users that don't have the savvy that others have. Just trying to help!

Shopa I tried to write you an email, but the one I have doesn't work anymore. If I remember right you use firefox. If you add greasemonkey as an addon you can use my script. I added for you line height and font-family so you can change it in whatever you need it to be. You also can use the script for other websites which might be helpful for you as well.

Here a screen with the changes (you can still change it) to 11px font size, line-height 14px and tahoma as font style.

Are you noticing the column doesn't line up anymore either? At least in Firefox on my Mac, it doesn't. Yuck, I hope we've caught a short transition period.

I am noticing that it's a (nice) serif font as I type, but an anorexic sans-serif font to read.

That's because the screen image J32Teez posted is wider than the column so pushes it out a bit. No way of avoiding that if you need to show something at the correct size Smile
