Don't know if this has been asked before. . . How about an Any Baby category? and Any Teen? I just read that we live in a gender-fluid society, so maybe we could make some more gender-neutral choices available to fit the times?

Yes, I agree. There are some items I have that would work equally well for a girl or boy. I hate having to choose. And this would be especially useful as a shopper for baby products. I have two friends right now who are pregnant and are probably going to wait for the birth to find out the gender. Being able to search for gender neutral baby gear would be GREAT!

This ties in with another poster's question about having a category for "poinsettias" except in this instance you were wondering about adding ANY BABY and ANY TEEN. I responded there and now here that I wonder if there is any way (or wisdom?) in Zazzler's being able to fill in a blank box with their own category if they cannot find a suitable one (sometimes the "main category is okay but the sub-categories needed are lacking) from the "canned" list provided. I suppose there is some good reason that this would not be a good idea or else it WOULD be available. I will also add that on occasion I have belatedly discovered appropriate sub-categories buried in what I obviously did not consider a place to look. Example: Though I have been here at Zazzle for a few years now, I only recently discovered that under art is a category for necklaces. I never looked there when I was filling out all the info for the Zazzle necklaces. I think I had been placing the necklaces in Fashion, Women's, Accessories. Still not sure which category is best. I am not sure that I do consider the necklaces as "art" though some jewelry/necklaces certainly ARE art.

When you pick a category it's supposed to be related to the design, not the product type. And you don't have to pick one. You can, but it's not mandatory. You can pick either a category, or an occasion, or a recipient or any combination of them if they are design-related.

Thanks for that clarification, Artsy Fartsy Maz. I have this mental block when it comes to that. I just have to assume that those "in the business" know what they are doing because I have no background in such things. But just as a person/shopper myself, I have almost always searched by item/product and NOT design. If I am looking for mugs, I would type in "mugs" or "coffee mugs" but not "floral"or "nature" or whatever. Perhaps after being taken to mugs, THEN I would proceed to get more specific as to design. Since this is the way I have always searched it is hard for me to think the other way. Is it better to pick a category? In what way does it help? If you pick poorly or wrongly, is it going to hurt?
