I have just been making some cards up and went to put my koala ones into the correct category. It has been called "koala bear".... a koala is not a bear and it is innapropriate to call it so. Why don't we just call a snake a lizard! Idea

It is just a small thing and perhaps one day it might get fixed.Happy

Spot on. In fact the closest relation to the Koala is another Aussie treasure. The Wombat. Which funnily enough, isn't a bat...Grin

I'll get my coat.

Doing a search in the main search engine...so many people are titling their cards as koala bears...it's wrong people!Crying

As for a wombat...well, it is a wombat..not a wombat bat...Laughing

Sounds nice but for chewing Eucalyptus leaves all day long. Great for a bung nose. But chewing them for Breakfast lunch and tea? No thanks. Happy

It isn't that tough to just call them Koala. This label is easily understood even by people who think that "bear" is a legitimate part of the name. In tags a person might want to add "koala bear" for those who search phrase specific, but Zazzle categories can be, and should be correct especially when, as here, correct labels do not adversely affect finding it.

Unreal, Political correctness for an animal.
Look, I'm as Australian as you can get (without being aboriginal) and they are known as both "Koala and Koala Bear". They do look like a type of bear and it is accepted throughout Australia that they are called Koala Bears.

Anyone want to put up the argument for "Drop bears"!!!
(Yes, they do get drunk on the leaves and fall out of trees!!!)

For those that don't know, "Drop Bears and Hoop snakes" are 2 of the most dangerous Animals in the world!!!!
They can rip you apart in seconds and then leave. The hoop snake does this by grabbing it's tail in it's mouth and rolling down hills!!!
You really won't know what hit you.
Want to know why the Bunyip is in danger of extinction? Blame the Drop bears and Hoop Snakes!!!!

Laughing Laughing Laughing Jen

Just read the link on Koalas. What a laugh!!!
Drop Bears don't explode all over you.
They drop on you from a great height and proceed to rip you apart.
The Grunting and flatulence is correct though!!!
