I'm spending this week updating and expanding my stores. I've seen the tile boxes, but am curious about the 'gift' boxes. What's on the top of them? Is it a laminated photo? Acrylic image? Something else? I can't find the info (may have missed it somewhere), and would really like to know what exactly I'm putting up for sale. Thanks, in advance, for any help.

I just checked the product page and it says that the box lid is inlaid with a tile that has your favorite image on it.
I'm guessing it's a tile similar to the other tiles available but it isn't specific about the material.
Cheers!

The Premium Gift boxes do not have an inlaid tile. They have a printed image, but I am not sure of the material used. The product description mentions a full bleed, full color print. There are no other specifics given.

It seems we are both half right Northwest... I looked closer at the page and there are TWO different styles. One with the printed image you mentioned and one with an inlaid ceramic tile. Both of them come in two different sizes. Here is the link to the page http://www.zazzle.com/custom/giftboxesI really should stop skimming the descriptions and actually read them.

I'm pretty sure that the "premium" giftboxes have the image printed and put into the lid, then it's sealed with a resin layer over the top.

Thanks for the input, guys. :-) I did mention in my original post that I've seen the tile boxes, but was curious about the 'gift' boxes, which is a different (much less expensive) item.
Today, I got this response from the Zazzle team:
"In printing our gift boxes, we employ a sublimation print process on the lid itself."
That doesn't tell me everything I was hoping to hear, but I know a bit more now than I did when I started the thread.
I'm still hoping a Zazzler who has actually seen the product will chime in, as I'm not able to order samples right now, and haven't found any reviews through Google.
Thanks, again!

I thought both types of gift boxes had a tile on the lid, just in different sizes. I guess I'm confused now. Has anyone seen a premium gift box in person?

This is what it say about the lid on the product page:
Available in 4 colors of wood, our larger boxes are inlaid with a custom tile in the lid, perfect for showcasing your favorite photo or design. Our smaller boxes, made of wood and secured with a magnetized lid, can also be customized with your images and make a great necklace container

When I check the tiles themselves each size says it fits the gift boxes.?? NO distinction on which box. There is no 3 inch tile listed

The print surface for the premium gift box looks like ceramic though, like a tile. Is it some other material? and if so what is it? edited to add: I just searched the forum and found this review of the premium gift boxes. http://forum.zazzle.com/basic/just_received_my_premium_gift_box_picturesI guess the surface is some kind of plastic with a resin coating.

Thanks for finding that review; don't know how I missed it. It seems that particular Zazzler was happy with the product and print quality, which is what I wanted to know. Now, I feel pretty comfortable offering both types of boxes, and maybe mentioning in the description that the 'Premium' box is especially well-suited to pairing with a necklace (or some other product). Not sure yet -- off to ponder ... and eat lunch.
