Template Question: I have 8 different color versions of the same logo. Is there a way to have all the different images as options on one product? So they can pick whatever color they like? Rather than have to create a new product for each one?

I don't think so....but it would be a nice option to have.

You could do that using the create-a-product API. Create-a-Product API

I'm surprised. I thought that would be a no-brainer.
Ok, assuming there's no easy way to do this. ( dont' think I want to deal with the API fiasco!)
Is there any way to display other options of this shirt with other color logos on the same page of the shirt? Other wise I'll have to create a hole category for just on lousy design in different colors. It's an Andy Warhol kind of design, with may color variations. I just don't want to take up a whole page with all these designs. I'd rather take the best one to display, then have the others available as an option or a sub category of some sort? Does that make any sense?
Thanks! ken

You want to hear something pretty amazing? I posted this quesiton, then went back to Google to try to find an answer there while I waited for a response. I typed in my quesition and the number one Google result was the question I just typed here! Is it possible it was indexed in a matter of mintues? If so, http://isuckatgolf.net . Golf tips, mayhem, and other stuff guys likeI can use that kind of link power pointing at my main site!

This might be a way to do it - make one category for your design, with subcategories inside that for each different color way. You can also add html to your product descriptions that will show thumbnails linking to the other colors.

Hi, thanks! I know no one likes to give html help! But can you give me one example of what the html might look like to display the color thumbnails? Where would the colors display, in the description area? Do you have or know of anyone who has a page that is doing this that i can look at to understand better what you mean. Not sure I'm getting it. Even if you can't supply an example of what the html might look like, if I saw it somewhere I could probabaly figure it out. (might take years and cost millions of lives, but I'll get it eventually!)
Thanks! ken

Not sure if I'm understanding the question because it seems the simplest thing is to create 8 different versions - it only takes 2-3 minutes to do each one.
Another option is to put all the colors on one shirt and check the template option for each layer. Then a customer would see 8 layers of personalization and be able to uncheck all but the color they want. I've seen that done with hair color.
Depends on whichever you think your customers would figure out more easily.

OK, here's an example from my first store: http://www.zazzle.com/celtic_knot_coaster-174582644151840192The code for the first thumbnail looks like this: Code:<a href="http://www.zazzle.com/celtic_knot_coaster-174533073010706699"><img src="http://rlv.zcache.com/celtic_knot_coaster-p174533073010706699v1a6z_100.jpg"></a> I was sort of hoping it might encourage somebody to buy a set instead of a single coaster - it hasn't happened yet, but maybe you'll have more luck!

I hope this is the right place to ask this question. I'm a very new zazzler and only made my store public a few days ago. http://www.zazzle.com/grafixmomI was wondering if anyone could tell me if I did this right...I made a mug with a place for a monogram. Here is the link: http://www.zazzle.com/vintage_blush_rose_monogram_mug-168140490441144229?gl=GrafixMom&rf=238437305232837482Is there a way to create a template so that the customer has the option to use a custom letter image that I could make available as a template item or are they limited to only the text options under "customize it"? Hope this make sense. I have looked at several stores, and can't find an example of what I'm talking about. Thanks for all the great advice on these forums!

The link took forever to load, so I went directly to the store. Sorry - you did NOT create the text area to be "personalized" properly. 1. Go to your existing product and CUSTOMIZE it. 2. Click on the item to be changed by the cusomer, then click on the "gears" icon 3. Check the "make this a template object" a. you can rename the label (i.e. "your monogram here") b. you can rename the "URL parameter name" also [tip. if you give the same LABEL and URL to more than one item location, you can have multiple text/images changed with one input by the buyer] Example 1: customer changes image and text once each and the bowl shows 4 images/one name. Example 2: customer changes image and text once each and bowl shows 2 images/2 names

Here is how I did it, although this is for different table numbers rather than logos: http://www.zazzle.com/antique_olive_floral_table_number_cut_out_photosculpture-153793829175860146

Thanks! That's how I did it, and then I wasn't sure if I did it correctly, until I found your post here. At first, I had multiple listings for each different color, and was in fear that I was violating some rules by making so many listings of the same product. http://www.zazzle.com/old_pickup_truck-235721045487530893

So they can pick whatever color they like? Rather than have to create a new product for each one? Add all images to the design. Make each one a template object using the gears icon. Just layer them on top of each other. Make sure that each has a different url paramater. Also, give each image a distinctive name like green logo, red logo, etc. They will all show up on the right side on the product page for the customer. They can delete the ones they don't want to use. Cartoonize my pets used to do this all the time, probably still does. She'd have several different colored bows, etc., for her cartoon pets so the customer could pick which one they wanted.

I went to the link for the old truck tee. It would be helpful if you explained in your description that the customer need to 'clear' every design that is not the one they want. It took me a while to figure this out.

I asked 2 friends, that have never used zazzle before, to go to my listing and put a certain color design in their shopping cart. Neither of them could figure it out. http://american-muscle.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=11726I am now wondering if I am either doing something wrong, or perhaps should just list each individual color as a new listing, and organize them in subfolders or something.

What a neat idea Botanical Art! Just curious... have you sold any of these table number cards listed this way? Would be useful to know if the customer figured out the process. Thanks for sharing the link. Kati
