aw.. thanks! these are great!.. I have a question ? Do you know if you have a free program such as photoscape, for photo editing, such as I do, can you get online, and download fonts into it?? I believe that the font program on Zazzle is so limiting.. because you cannot move it vertically, slight diagonal, etc..

Hello everyone! I'm new here and just starting out....I've been reading the forums for "learning purposes" and WOW you guys are GREAT! I just havent been able to find and answer to one question. I've noticed that some of your zazzle sites have really REALLY great formats but I dont seem to find them when I'm creating mine. Did you guys cut and paste the code from another site like you can do for myspace? And again, I really appreciate all your help here, even tho most of you didn't even know I was here!!

You can add your own header .. and change colour schemes .. add html so you have links and clickable images etc ..some sites are beta testing a new layout but its not yet available to everyone .. but you can't use myspace layouts or anything .. you also need to be careful using images that are not yours .. such as images off myspace and most other places on line as you can get in to a lot of trouble legally using those .. like the dragon image and dragon heart by homeryulo from deviant art .. you can't use other peoples artwork on here

So there's this great program called The Font Thing. It's a free download. From this program you can access every fon't on your computer, without having them permanently installed. just keep the fonts you use most often in your Windows fonts folder. The rest of them, move to your Documents in a folder and called My Fonts or something. Then, when you are in your graphics program (or any program that accesses fonts), if you need a different font that what you have installed, you open up The Font Thing(TFT) You can type in the word or phrase you are creating and see a preview of it in every single font on your computer. I get messages saying the file must be either corrupted or wasn't decoded properly? Is it me? I know this sounds dumb...but I don't even know how to access my "Windows fonts folder"! I searched my computer, but though I know it must be there, I can't seem to locate it...I know, I'm sure it'll be obvious when someone points it out!LOL! Thanks for all the URLs/links! I am always looking for new design ideas and resources, so everyone's contributions are much appreciated... I like Photofiltre, Paint.net, and Gimp the best for basic image editing/creation, and I have been looking for tiling and fractal programs as of a few days ago. So, my undying gratitude, a thousand times over! Bless you.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was looking for an alternative to Fireworks, just for something different. InkScape looks interesting.

If your a bit unsure as to what colours go with what for your gallery pages here's a lovely link to a site called Wellstyled.com Here you choose the main colour. It tells you what colours compliment it or chooses up to three contasting colours that look great with it. It can even show you what your colour scheme looks like to someone with different stages of colour-blindness. Very educational!

I would think you may have a corrupt file. It happens sometimes. I would uninstall it and redownload it. Make sure you have nothing else running, no other browser windows open etc.

Hi There! Here's another handy online application suite (4 programs) I found. It loads in your browser (so no pesky dowloads). Here's what they say about it: "Aviary is a web based application suite that has a lot of promise and currently has four applications - Peacock Visual Laboratory, Phoenix Image Editor, Raven Vector Editor and Toucan Color Palettes. The site has two membership plans available at the time of writing this article - Basic (free) and Pro ($9.99 per month). With Basic and Pro you can use all four of Aviary’s applications. With the Basic and Pro account you also get access to basic tutorials on the applications so that you can learn how to use them properly." There is also a gallery area where you can see images created by other folks using these programs. Some of them are amazing! And it looks like they have a lot of programs in beta to add soon. Here's the link: http://aviary.com/home Have fun! Debbie
