Does anyone know what are the correct dimensions for a NEW iPhone5 case design? Thank you! Smile

Actual phone dimensions from the Apple site;

iPhone 5 =
Height: 4.87 inches (123.8 mm)
Width: 2.31 inches (58.6 mm)
Depth: 0.30 inch (7.6 mm)

iPhone 4=
Height: 4.5 inches (115.2 mm)
Width: 2.31 inches (58.6 mm)
Depth: 0.37 inch (9.3 mm)
So the iPhone 5 is a little taller and a bit thinner.

Thank you for that, although what I am trying to find is the specific image dimensions for Zazzle's new iPhone 5 case designs. I would like to create and upload some new designs for the iPhone 5. I am able to find the image guidelines for the iPhone 4, but not for the iPhone 5.

I've created a template for you from the design tool guide;

Tried your template, but it still does not cover the entire case... Sad

I've just tried it by loading the template itself into a phone case design - you just need to click the 'resize image to fill...' button once you've added your image.
The template fitted itself very well to the design space once I'd clicked the button.

Steve, just picked up your template as well! Great of you to put it out there. I wish you had templates for some other products as invitations, mugs, mousepads. The zazzle guidelines don't seem to be all that correct re resolution, pixels, and size. You pros do great work! Jan

Well, so sorry Steve! You did put them out there! I'm just so bad at this forum stuff. Need to pay more attention. Thanks Jan

Ok, with the template Steve created do I put the main part of the image within the inside red lines and extend the complete image to the outside red lines? I'm confused. Sorry, I've never used a template before just the Zazzle guidelines. Sorry to be so dumb. Sad

I spent three days putting up designs and now I guess they aren't the right size. I'm sooo frustrated.

Can someone please help? Does anyone have the exact guideline dimensions for the IPhone 5, like the ones Zazzle gives us?

Thank you.

I think I figured out the template. Phew! I will have to redo all my IPhone 5 product images though. What a pain! Oh well, live and learn.

Thanks, Steve for the template.

Thanks for the template. I just go by dimensions when I design and this is what I measured:

Safe (red line area) = 900W X 1643L
Total area = 985W X 1730L
@ 300 DPI

Does that sound right?

Krickerd, I measured the template at 3.9"x 6.667" in total area. Not sure what the safe area measures. Hope that helps.

@Cloud9Kreations,
First off...DON'T DELETE YOUR CASES! - not unless there's actually something wrong with them...although I've just looked at your 'Chat Noir' and the design doesn't actually cover the case.
Now, the Templates/Guides, I hardly ever use them myself and made this one (and others) because SK's were asking for them.
This Template/Guide is made from a screenshot of the guide image you will see in Zazzle's design view when creating an iPhone 5 case, it has been enlarged to 2000px high and the white has been made transparent so that you can lay it over your design and see the design through it. As this Guide has been made from Zazzle's own design view I imagine it is what the official guide would look like if Z were still making them.
At 2000 pixels high the Template/Guide is if anything slightly larger than necessary - this is how I tend to upload my designs as it gives a little more flexibility when you come to place it on the product, the Template/Guide can easily be re-sized if required - but obviously should not be made too small.
I don't know the reason for that red rectangle around the outside of the guide, and without input from Zazzle I suppose we just have to guess, but personally I don't see any necessity to extend designs right up to that and feel covering the area outlined in black should be enough. Some of my designs do go up to (and beyond) the outer red line, but with others I'm just aiming to comfortably cover the central area (transparent in the Template/Guide).

Hope this is of some use,

Steve.
