A couple of times there's been a glitch whilst creating products, when the categories tree just can't be clicked on. I always carried on and assumed that the product would go into new products, but apparently not.

I just found a messenger bag whilst searching the marketplace for my products, I made it ages ago and forgot about it, I've since made changes to other items with that design on it, so I was familiar with the products, I wondered why I'd missed the messenger bag. I tried searching looking in new products and it wasn't there, I had to search for it again in the marketplace to edit it.

I turns out that it had no set category,

Can anyone tell me how I find any other products that are not in any category?

Good question. I'd love to know if there's an answer since there have been several site glitches that have caused products not to be added to my chosen store category. I've tried to be diligent about fixing the problem when I know it exists, but I imagine it happens more often than I'm aware. From time to time I trip over uncategorized stuff and would love to be able to isolate everything not in a store category.

Products MUST be assigned a category when they are made, so if it didn't have a category at all, it must have happened during a glitch when they were doing upgrades or maintenance. I had that happen once a long time ago. I don't have a new products category. I found it useless, so I deleted it. If I forget to assign something a category, it goes into the default category which is the first category in my store. And if you have multiple stores, it might be in one of the other stores.

If you looking for something specific, you might do a search in your store for the name of the product or by tags you assigned it to find it.

I can't think of an easier way to hunt them down.
