Has anyone here ever sold or bought a skin before?

They are ok for what they are. Just go to ebay and do a search for xbox skin you can find tons of information about them.

Yeah, Im not sure if ill buy any skins of ebay tho, 90% are artworks they found off the net (without permission) and just printed them on skins.. i don't support that
Plus i was curious on zazzle quality, since they do have a tendency on printing out darker or in the wrong colors. I just kinda found it odd that they removed the reviews on them

I've sold one. I don't know how much they liked it, but I hope they did :-).

Ditto! - it was just a couple of days ago so I'll be looking out for a return or bad review.

You could also be looking out for a repeat purchase or a 5 star review!

LOL!!...Yes, what I mean is that I'm not making many of the skins yet until I've got some idea how popular they may (or may not) be, so it's not quite as negative as I make it sound!

I bought one. I don't want to scare any potential customers off, since this is a public forum, but the skin I bought for my kindle turned out too dark.

It might have been my design that was too dark, though.

Because of printing on sheet vinyl most images will be darker than originally designed. Its because of the vinyl being used, the ink actually absorbs differently that it does on other types of products.

Another issue with vinyl, is fading from sunlight and handling. If the vinyl does not have an overlaminate on it, either second layer clear or a liquid overlayment they will fade from both light and touch over time. For example hand grips on controllers, phones and such over short time become faded almost as if rubbed off.(im not sure if zazzle's has overlaminate or not)

I personally apply a clear overlaminate on the ones we make now to provide that protection they need.

As for the ones on ebay, most all of them will print your own images for you on top of what they have also.

I only know this because I have an actual vinyl sign and graphics company here on the Ms. Coast and we have been doing these same types of skins for a few years now.

I haven't been able to find this information elsewhere...

Are the skins clear or do they have an opaque white printing surface?

I figure it's white but I can't tell for sure.

I'm really curious too. I have had a couple of skins sell - but haven't gotten any feedback on them. I notice that the phone skins aren't getting as many hits as my phone cases. The cases sell really well, but they are about 2x as expensive. I had designed a number of skins but they aren't getting any realy hits, and fewer sales.

I just designed a new ipad skin and I'm thinking of buying one of my own designs for my iPad2 and checking out how it looks.

I bought a laptop skin out of my fine art store for myself. I was very pleased with the printing. The color was vibrant and very true.

The only surprise was that it was a bit smaller than my laptop, which is a standard size. But I like it anyway, have had it for about 4 months, and it is wearing wonderfully. No bubbles, went on very smooth, and looks great!

But I haven't sold any others, yet!
