Maybe I'm OCD about this but when creating a product that includes some of my photography or digital painting I want the Text to be just the right color. For example I just spent almost 2 hours on a postcard, lol. Granted it's beautiful IMHO http://www.zazzle.com/sweetrascal*/product/239452572227683981?CMPN=ltte But most of the time finding the right color from the very few that ZAZZLE has posted drives me nuts! Well I just found the best website I've ever seen for giving HEX color codes so you can just type it into the box at the bottom of the color picker. If anyone else is picky about colors you might find this useful. http://www.december.com/html/spec/color.html

Thanks to a tip in this forum earlier I also found that you can just copy the hex from a graphic program and then hit enter, works great but this link is wonderful...even more options.

exactly. Whenever I'm creating things that I know I'm going to add text to, or even backgroun colors - I always have my PSP open.

There's quite a few sites like these. Here's a couple in the format of a color wheel that I've been using recently: http://www.allprofitallfree.com/color-wheel2.htmlhttp://www.ficml.org/jemimap/style/color/wheel.htmlThere might be other ones using this format out there too with a bit more Googling by searching for "hex color wheel". Obviously image software have these too, so just saves you loading up a whole art software for just this purpose if you haven't already got it open. Thanks for making this thread and sharing your tip. It's definitely going to be useful for people to know about the use of Hex codes.

I have the BEST site to share with everyone on this topic - I found it by accident. This site will not only help create great colors - it helps with supportive complimentary colors. When you are on the main page of this site click on "create" and play with the circles on the color wheel and watch what happens - When you are happy with the color theme the Hex number and any other number will be listed at the bottom of that color - have fun and explore the entire site - you will learn a lot about color - this will help you if you plan to paint a room in your house too!!!!! The hex numbers are the codes you need to copy into the color box here when you're using text or background colors. You can use it when you change your gallery page too. The ones offered here are very limited.

mousearte is right, when creating a product or modifying your gallery, to select a new color for something there's a little colored box, you click on that it brings up a variety of (limited) colored boxes to choose from. At the bottom right of this popup there is a small box with a # for the hex code. Paste the code in there (just the numbers/letters and not a #) and press enter on your keyboard.

If you're using Firefox, and wanting to match text to a color in your images, Colorzilla is an awesome time-saver.
