A mate of mine is having a hen night and asked if I could get some t-shirts done.... not sure how to go about it on here though and which is the best way....
I need to get 6 t-shirts done, all pink ladies normal t-shirts sizes large a design on the front and then text on the backs (bride to be etc)
I just did a quick design on here and it said it would come up to about $29 dollers which just say is about £15 over here (UK) I told her they will be around £15 each and she was ok with that...
I want to make some money off it though so I was going to say a little bit more and get her to send me the money via paypal and then i'll use however much it'll cost on here to pay for the t-shirts and then have them gift delivered to her....
but its my Mums Paypal and its going to be about £90-100 so dont really want anything going wrong, so...
I was thinking if I design them all on here and put them on my Gallery, and then she can come on here and pay for them herself and what not...
but im not sure how this % thing works when people buy products from on your gallery.....?
obviously if I put them on here and she buys them from on here then I will get some %, I think its set as 25% maybe! cant remember exactly, but where i've put 25% for my products, does that mean, the higher % I put on it, the higher the overall price will be she'll have to pay considering I said it'll be £15 per t-shirt?
im just not sure, im happy with doing it via paypal with her putting the money in there and me only using the right amount on here, and then im left with some money which I can just get straight away off my mum, considering its her paypal... everything sounds simple...
but if she buys them on here, the % I get stays on here until I hit a certain amount dont it? and then I got to wait for a cheque or something a month after? which all sounds pretty hectic...
so can I get some advice please, im going to be starting it all tomorrow considering the hen night is next month (June) and they take 2 weeks to get delivered here, so asap!

In my mind the easiest way for everyone is for you to design the shirts for her and let her come in and purchase them. You can change the % to reflect the amount you would like to make but remember if you go over 20% Zazzle takes a little bit more. Her price is also going to depend on the color and style of tee she wants and then you need to remember to calculate in her S/H fees too. You would receive your payment around the first of the month AFTER a 30 day period

Well, the easiest thing, I think, is to have her order from here herself, or sell her your design for a set price and have her come on here and create them herself.

Hmmm..
the payment on this site is complicated lol
the 'selling her the design' would be good, but I said £15 so dont really wanna make her pay anymore than that per t-shirt...

i've decided im just going to do a quick design for her (for the fronts) and send her it over MSN... then she can come on here and do whatever...
I wont make any money but never mind, only simple and quick way I know, and understand lol.

I'd recommend "branding" this design you're giving her free, so that your site address is listed on it small and subtley, if you have a shop of your own... That way when her other friends and their friends, etc, ask where it came from she can remember where to point them too, instead of just saying "oh! a friend of mine made these!" which generates no sales...
Also, if it's a design you actually CAN sell, go ahead and put it up yourself for people other than her, and just let her use the premade you gave her, OR your site if she feels the markup is worth saving herself the trouble to 'design' them herself.

Yeh I usually puts my 'business logo' on some designs which I do for people...
Im not sure what she wants exactly though, its pretty simple though, just 6 t-shirts with text on the back, and she said she wanted a simple 'girly' design on the front which would prob take me about 5 minutes anyway, so I didnt really see the need in her paying me anything cos she can just come on here herself and add whatever text she wants.... and as for the simple design on the front, thats nothing, i'll just put my logo on there somewhere :-)
