Would removing this category affect my store in any way? I'm trying to re- organize of one my stores.

Thanks,

It just comes back. It is a Zazzle default. Can't rename it, either.

Ok, thanks Smile Most e-commerce web applications like Magento and Prestashop have this default categories too, but if you erase them , it totally screws up the stores, although there is an option to "hide" it.

Thanks again!

This is incorrect, since the upgrade you can remove "new products" and it will stay removed or you can just rename it and use it as a category.

Oh well, I hadn't tried it since the upgrades.

I had some products in the "New Products" category and deleted them, they were also deleted from my entire store even though they had a category associated to them. I had to create the products from scratch and lost whatever "mojo" that they had earned.

I wish they would just do away with the new products category. I just call the section "Random New Stuff", I even made a thumbnail for it and I can't delete or move anything from it. So , it isn't even new products it's just a bunch of random stuff. Some of the products in my "New Products" section are my oldest products. That just doesn't even make sense.

I renamed it to 'Private' a while ago, and I still have it. I was afraid to remove it, though; I just might do that.

I tried deleting New Products with no other categories defined, and it wouldn't delete. So I added a few categories, then deleted it. I haven't run into any problems.

I changed it too but in the left column (list of categories) it remains New Products so I removed my change. I don't do CSS or HTML (or at least not major stuff)so did the listing in the left column change for you.

EDIT--I tried it again but waited for some time (over an hour) returned to the computer and even the left column now says "Recent Additions." So it worked for me. Grin

I removed the new products category from my store and it deleted it. Now when I create a new product, I just have to make sure it goes into the file I want it in - you pick that when you are selecting the categories.
