For pure selfish reasons I have gone through this forum and gathered all the nifty tips, tricks and tuts that our fellow Zazzlers have posted so far. Maybe someone could sticky this so it keeps visible to new Zazzlers and people that haven´t so far dipped their toes in the customization pond?Shop organization - product line thumbnails and how to put them on your frontpagehttp://forum.zazzle.com/advanced/shop_organizationShop organization - A completely customized store with breadcrumb navigation and section thumbshttp://forum.zazzle.com/advanced/a_store_customization_with_section_images_a#147240 A complete Guide how to set up a fancy store like Sugar Vs Spicehttp://forum.zazzle.com/advanced/guide_to_setting_up_a_store_like_mineMaking your homepage look even better - how to add a footer (and top) image like in Lisa Marie´s shop:http://forum.zazzle.com/advanced/how_to_add_a_footer_imagesAdd images / links / text to sidebarhttp://forum.zazzle.com/advanced/how_to_add_images_to_sidebarMiscellaneous customization tips and tricks by the man of many names Bradley (If you look at his shops Ars Celtica and Retropolis Travel Bureau you´ll just know you have to customize your store!)http://forum.zazzle.com/advanced/miscellaneous_customization_tricks How to add a new custom page (also from Bradley aka ArsCeltica)http://forum.zazzle.com/advanced/how_to_add_a_completely_new_custom_pageSidebar customization - by ArsCelticahttp://forum.zazzle.com/advanced/simple_sidebar_tricks_examplehttp://forum.zazzle.com/advanced/scary_sidebar_tricks_exampleHow do I change the background color of the top picks?MingTees might have a solution for you: http://forum.zazzle.com/advanced/how_do_i_change_the_background_color_of_top_picksChanging the background of the sales promo barhttp://forum.zazzle.com/advanced/changing_the_background_of_the_sale_promo_barIs there a way to NOT show "featured", "Current" or "Popular" on the main page or subsequent pages? The answer to this question provided by Retropolis Travel: Unless I've forgotten something, this only shows on the home page.
The basic "Content" page only lets you select one of the three options - not none. But if you dig in a little to the Advanced (Beta) system you find that there is a way to do this.
In Store/Content/Advanced, there is a definition for the comtent of each kind of store page. Below the line that reads:
Code:<z:page id="home" title="Home" navigable="true" visible="true" template="maintemplate">
... you can change the lines
Code: <z:module name="homecontent" visible="true" /> <z:module name="toppicks" visible="true" /> <z:module name="homeproducts" visible="true" />
to:
Code: <z:module name="homecontent" visible="false" /> <z:module name="toppicks" visible="false" /> <z:module name="homeproducts" visible="false" />
And now no products, featured items, or top picks should show up on your home page. You can do the same to the Comment wall too, if you like.
Your home page will now only contain the HTML in your store description (or in a custom home page template, if you use that). Can I add custom html (not css) in the sidebars? And again answered by Retropolis Travel: You can easily add HTML before or after the sidebar content, but there's no easy way to add HTML between the modules of the sidebar.Links to HTML, XHTML and CSS tutshttp://forum.zazzle.com/advanced/coding_site_linkshttp://forum.zazzle.com/advanced/good_code_editorsNeed help in customizing your store?bartonclaydesigns is a former web designer and has offered to help with your dream customization! I agree this should be stickied! As I am just resting from working on my stores (they are different, but I want to do more), I would like to be able to come straight to this thread to find out what I need to know!

Well, it worked fine except that it messed up the product page colors. When i went to work on the product page colors, it reverted the product bg colors back to the original. I'm sure there's a way to do it, but since i have a product border on it, it's not too bad except for the Alternative Apparel women's scoop neck in black, because it's very black. And i use a lot of them. So i'll work on it more when i get the chance, and i'll leave it as is for now. About the border colors, they show up in the right color in IE, but in FF they show as white. Again, good enough for the time being till i have time to work that out.

I can see me coming back here and following the great tips, tricks and tuts when I'm a little more familiar with the basic Zazzle store. For off-site promotion on pages you control, where there isn't room for a Zazzle Panel, try MyZazzlt! gadget. Full tutorial here

OMG, Felidae! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Hopefully I can implement these changes correctly, as I'm not very good with the CSS and Beta Code and all that. Anyone had success because of this thread?

Thanks for all the tips & tricks. I'm adding it into my favorites. I've been with zazzle for several years without much success, so this will be my make it or break it year. Hope that 2010 will be a happy & properous new year for all of us. Many thanks. Margie

Felidae52 thanks for gathering all of that up and placing it in one spot of convenience! Also a BIG thanks to the contributors of those tips!! It's nice to see people being so helpful.
I'm new to Zazzle, even though my store has been here for a bit. (Store was created to help a gaming clan I do work for to be able to purchase clan products.) Now I want to really get neck deep in producing products and promoting myself as a designer. These tips are going to assist me in being able to make my store have a more professional appeal.
Thanks everyone! Here's to wishing you love, happiness and prosperity in 2010!!

Thank you for starting this thread. I am in the process of learning HTML, but am still a tad scared to mess about with my store. I love Zazzle, I have been on since Nov. 2009, so quite a newbie. There are a few things I want to change, though, and this thread has answered my questions.
